MediaMint’s Word/PDF to Text tool reads a Word document directly (it has real text built in) or a PDF (using its real text when available, falling back to OCR only for scanned pages).

Is this the same as the OCR tool?+
Same engine underneath, just focused on documents — a Word file or a PDF, not photos or screenshots. If you need to pull text from an image, Image to Text or OCR handle that.
Does this use OCR on my Word document?+
No — Word files have real text built in, so it’s read directly, instantly, with perfect accuracy. OCR only kicks in for PDF pages that are scanned images with no text layer.
Is there a file size limit?+
No fixed limit for this tool, since it never leaves your browser — very large PDFs with many scanned pages will simply take longer.
